The Ham community (as a whole), through out the years has 
always had one thing in common among themselves. 
And that is the desire to help others.
It has been this way from the beginning.

 The Louisa Amateur Radio Association consists of local Ham's interested 
in helping the community in Louisa County.
And to also enhance the Amateur Radio experience, and awareness in this County.
 
 Providing emergency communications for Louisa was our main goal.

 Louisa County EOC personnel back in early 2000 made us aware that
they need additional communication support and means
during major emergency's, whether it be weather related,
or some major disaster within Louisa County.
Their main concern is the nuclear power plant located in Louisa.
Dominion Electric and the Louisa EOC work close together,
and both have agreed of the vital part Amateur Radio would play in their communication needs.
